Angus Council is consulting with the public during their statutory review of polling districts under the authority’s purview.
The review began on Monday and the existing polling scheme, draft proposals and returning officer’s comments on these proposals are now available for inspection in public libraries, ACCESS offices and at Angus House in Forfar.
The council is particularly keen to hear from anyone with expertise in access to premises or facilities for persons with disabilities.
Local authorities are required to carry out such a review to ensure that electors have such reasonable facilities for voting as are practicable and that these facilities are accessible to electors who are disabled.
Details of the review can also be found at www.angus.gov.uk/elections/review2013/
Comments and representations may be made in writing to email@example.com or by post to Head of Legal and Democratic Services, Resources Directorate, Angus Council, Angus House, Orchardbank Business Park, Forfar, DD8 1AN.
The closing date for comments and representations to be submitted is 5 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
The final proposals will be submitted to Angus Council on December 12 and the outcome of the review will be published on December 31.
