Police are on the look out for a thief who sneaked into Carnoustie High School on Tuesday morning and made off with pupil’s property.
A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland is making enquiries after the theft of a two figure sum of money and a mobile phone from Carnoustie High School on May 6 at 10.45am.”
Officers returned to the school on Wednesday to follow a positive line of enquiry.
Pupils were upset by the intrusion with some taking to social media to vent their anger.
One pupil said on Twitter: “Can’t believe the school let someone in who doesn’t go to our school and he stole a bunch of stuff, good one Carnoustie High.”
Angus Council responded to the theft saying: “The school is aware of the incident and is cooperating with police enquiries.”
