Reports of a woman in the water at Arbroath Harbour were answered on Monday by the Coastguard, Police, Ambulance Service and RNLI.
The 52-year-old woman was spotted by members of the public in the water at the slipway in the late afternoon.
Arbroath’s inshore lifeboat, Robert Fergusson, was launched following the report of the incident in the town’s harbour.
The volunteer RNLI crew launched shortly before 4.30 p.m., however it was quickly established that no lifeboat assistance was required.
Police Scotland confirmed that the lady came out of the water of her own accord and after being checked over by ambulance staff was left in the care of family members who were at the scene.
