Queen of the South fans sponcered the darts marathon held in Tutties on Saturday.

A DARTS marathon at an Arbroath pub last weekend raised nearly £1,000 for Little Cairnie Hospital.

Tutties Neuk proprietor Carol Shand along with Audrey Swankie, Joan Smieton and Yvonne Milligan, hosted the noon to midnight darts marathon on Saturday which raised £920 for the new palliative care room at Little Cairnie.

Carol was delighted with the response. She said: “It was absolutely tremendous, a fantastic day, really, really good.

“I lost my brother last year and there’s a room getting done up out at Little Cairnie for when it comes to near the end. It’s a family room so it’s more personal and it’s for that to get it finished.”

There was also some help from an unexpected source. Carol said: “Queen of the South fans were fantastic and they also helped and got involved in the darts.

“I just want to thank everybody for their help, I couldn’t believe how well it went! The girls did a fantastic job. It was a great party atmosphere and it was great fun, I’ve never seen anything like it.”
