Schools decision referred to full council
Ewan Smith
A DECISION on the Arbroath Schools Project has been delayed so the issue can be discussed at the next full Angus Council meeting it has emerged today (Tuesday).
On Thursday the council’s education committee were deciding how to progress with the £10.6 million project and considering the options available to them.
After a vote it was decided both Warddykes Primary and Timmergreens Primary would be replaced, with any cash left over used for improvements and repairs to the town’s eight other primary schools.
However, Arbroath councillor Ewan Smith has lodged an amendment to refer the item to the next full council meeting, which takes place on Thursday, March 28.
His motion has been seconded by Carnoustie councillor Bill Bowles.
