Salvation Army party
OLDER people in Arbroath will enjoy a Christmas treat this year thanks to a generous donation.
The Irons family of Forfar were so grateful for the support provided to their mother by the council’s social work and health service that they wanted to give something back to help older people living alone.
Thanks to their kind donation of £5,000, the Salvation Army has organised Christmas parties where they will provide a full Christmas lunch and festive entertainment.
The local parties in Arbroath take place on December 14 and 17.
If you will be alone this Christmas, or know someone who will be alone this Christmas, join the party by contacting Major James McCluskey on 01307 469574.
Angus Council’s social work and health spokesperson Councillor Glennis Middleton, said: “I would like to thank the Irons family for their kind donation and I am delighted that we are able to work with the Salvation Army in using it for such a worthy cause.”
