Round Table’s annual tea party
Members of the Round Table picked up residents of Monkbarns Care Home and other venues, to transport them to a pensioners day at the British Legion Halls.
THE ARBROATH branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland was once again the venue for Arbroath Round Table’s ‘Tablers Tea Party’ on Saturday which was attended by 80 people.
An array of talent had been lined up for the afternoon with youngsters Bella Robb and Gregor Milne from the Limelight Company putting in a star turn and performing five songs, much to the appreciation of the assembled group.
Following on were three young pipers from Arbroath Royal British Legion Pipe Band.
Led by Jamie Falconer, Lewis Smith and Scott Donald lifted the roof off the place with an amazing set of four tunes which really got the crowd stamping and clapping along
The afternoon drew to a close with a vote of thanks by chairman Malcolm Scott to the performers, the Arbroath Tablers and their families and Annie Ogilvie and the ladies of the Legion for the use of the facilities and the lunch provided.
Malcolm said: “This year’s tea party was fantastic. Everyone had a great time and it is a real pleasure to do this kind of event.
“We look forward to hosting next year’s party but we still have a couple of events coming up for our senior citizens with our games night later this month and a match day at Gayfield in April.”
