Recycling centre development begins

IMPROVEMENTS to Arbroath’s recycling centre got under way earlier this week.

On Wednesday a five week project, costing £58,151, began at the Arbroath Recycling Centre on Cairnie Loan.

The work will see the formation of a new concrete hardstanding area for recycling bins, the construction of two additional skywalks accessing the skips on the upper tier of the site, improved signage and new road markings.

The work has been funded by Zero Waste Scotland and will make it easier for users to access the skips and recycling bins and thereby increase the rate of recycling from 39 per cent to 50 per cent.

Disruption to the site is expected to be minimal and the centre will remain open during the works. For details of recycling centre in Angus visit www.angus.gov.uk/recycling
