Police name traffic collision victim

A MAN who died following a road traffic collision near Newbigging on Sunday has been named as 79-year-old William Watson by Tayside Police.

Mr Watson, who was from the Wellbank area was involved in a incident on the Newbigging to Carlungie Road on Sunday evening.

Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going.

Police say officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Watson’s silver-coloured Volvo on the Newbigging to Carlungie Road between 10.30 p.m. and 11.40 p.m. on Sunday evening.

Anyone who may have information to assist officers with their enquires is asked to contact Tayside Police on 0300 111 2222.

As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
