TAYSIDE Police is wanting the public’s views on what they want to policing to be like in their area.
On Monday the force launched a consultation on its draft interim local policing plans for 2013 to 2014.
The draft interim local policing plans 2013 to 2014 set out the local policing priorities and objectives for the three local authority areas across Tayside.
They are produced as part of a planning process which takes account of the Scottish Government’s overarching vision for public services, the strategic police priorities set by Scottish ministers, the Scottish Police Authority’s strategic police plan and the Chief Constable of Scotland’s annual police plan.
The local policing plans represent a critical part of the delivery process for the new service.
They focus on two key themes, namely public protection: creating safer communities and community policing: responding to local concerns.
As a crucial part of the planning process Tayside Police is keen to engage with the public, partners and staff in order to gather their views on the draft interim local policing plans, prior to finalisation in March.
This engagement will ensure that what the force is proposing will provide the public with a local police service that meets their needs and deals with the issues that are important to them.
The draft interim local policing plans 2013 to 2014 are available on the Tayside Police website www.tayside.police.uk/About-Us/Force-Publications/policing-plan-consultation.htm
