Parade to be an annual event

editorial image

PLANS are now in place for Arbroath to have an annual celebration of the town’s links to the armed forces.

In May of this year, an armed forces parade was held in the High Street to mark the 70th anniversary of the Red Lichtie Spitfire fund.

And thanks to the success of the parade, it is hoped to make the event a yearly occasion.

Now organisers are hopeful for volunteers to come forward who maybe able to assist with planning or helping on the day.

The organising group will be meeting on Tuesday (November 27) in the Arbroath branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland, in Helen Street at 7 p.m..

For more information contact Mhairi Dickson from Arbroath and area local community planning team on 01241 433259.
