Lifeboat launched

ARBROATH’S all-weather lifeboat ‘RNLB Inchcape’ was launched this morning (Tuesday, January 15) to assist a scalloper which had lost power.

Having received a request for assistance the lifeboat was launched at 9.20 a.m. to attend to the stricken boat, which was located 12 miles east of Arbroath with four

crew members on board.

The lifeboat arrived on site but the crew on board the scalloper were able to restart their engine without further assistance and the RNLI volunteers were stood

down, returning to harbour at approximately 12.15 p.m.
