League of Friends are full of heart
The League of Friends of the Arbroath Hospitals have donated equiopment for use by the District Nursing Teams. They have provided 4 new blood pressure monitoring machines fro the Springfield, Abbey and Medical Centre teams. The yeams are extremely grateful for this generous donation especially in relation to the work that they do with long term conditions management. Monitoring blood pressure for patients that they see at home is a vital in preventing stroks and heart attacks. The addition of the 4 new machines will mean that staff will have more equipment available to them without sharing. ARBROATH nursing teams have been given a boost thanks to an equipment donation from a local charity.
On Friday the district nursing teams the Arbroath Medical Centre, Springfield Medical Centre and the Abbey Health Centre were presented with four new blood pressure monitoring machines.
The equipment was donated by the League of Friends of Arbroath Infirmary and Little Cairnie Hospital and handed over at the Springfield Medical Centre.
A spokesperson for the district nurses said: “The teams are extremely grateful for this generous donation, especially in relation to the work that they do with long term conditions management.
“Monitoring blood pressure for patients that they see at home is vital in preventing strokes and heart attacks.
“The addition of the four new machines will mean that staff will have more equipment available to them without sharing.”
The League of Friends primarily raises money to provide amenities for the patients and staff of Arbroath infirmary and Little Cairnie Hospital but also often donate equipment to other groups in Arbroath involved in the treatment and care of the elderly or those with long term conditions.
