Jazz maestros’ comeback

JAZZ at Hospitalfield will welcome back next week the performers of the award-winning ‘Hospitalfield Suite’.

On March 16 Paul Harrison, who composed the suite, will take to the piano alongside Tom McNiven on trumpet, Phil O’Malley on trombone, Euan Burton on bass, Chris Wallace on drums and special guest Alan Barnes on clarinet and saxophone.

Organiser of Jazz at Hospitalfield, Alan Steadman is pleased to see their return.

He said: “It’s always good to have Alan Barnes at Hospitalfield. He is undoubtedly one of the best reeds players in Europe and is in constant demand.

“Fortunately he loves coming here and the audience, in turn, loves his playing his anecdotes and his humour. Look out for a night of swinging jazz.”

Tickets are priced at £12 and are available from 01382 774648.
