IN LINE FOR AWARD
The hugely popular farm shop at Milton Haugh, Carmyllie, is one of two Angus businesses which have been shortlisted for the Scottish Countryside Alliance's prestigious Best Local Food Award. The other is Watt, butcher, Montrose.
Lesley Gray of Milton Haugh Farm Shop, which also has outlets at Angus Gateway, Ethiebeaton, Monifieth, and in Edzell, was complimentary about the high standards of Angus produce.
"Milton Haugh is all about local food and Angus has a great variety of produce to choose from, which our customers obviously enjoy as this is the third time we've been nominated and the second time we've been shortlisted for an SCA Award," she said.
"Being nominated is a ray of light in these difficult times and we have our fingers crossed for a good result. However, we're up against stiff competition as Watt the Butcher is in the same category."
The winners of the Scottish Countryside Alliance Awards, including the Best Local Food Award, will be announced at a reception at Holyrood in February.
