Get the flu jab now before its too late

NHS TAYSIDE is urging the significant percentage of people yet to have their free flu jab to do so immediately.

According to the health authority up to 46 per cent of people under 65 who are eligible for the vaccination have not done so.

This statistic came on the back of a rise of GP consultations in December and January for people with flu-like illnesses.

Those in the under-65 at risk category includes people with existing long term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis and other heart, lung and liver diseases, pregnant women and unpaid carers.

Staff who work in health and social care who deal directly with clients and patients are also recommended to take the flu jab.
