Council want views on development

ANGUS Council is seeking views on a document outlining the big issues affecting the county and how it should develop over the next 20 years.

The Angus Local Development Plan Main Issues Report (MIR) provides an early opportunity to inform and shape the strategy and content of the new local development plan.

The MIR sets out what Angus Council believes are the most important issues for the future development of land in the county.

It sets out a strategy and vision for the area and identifies where development should and should not go, and contains options for directions of growth in the seven burghs and four rural areas including Friockheim and Letham.

Members of the public can view the documents, and leave comments, at www.angus.gov.uk/ldpmainissuesreport.

Alternatively comments can be emailed to localplan@angus.gov.uk or in writing to Local Development Plan Team, Planning and Transport Division, Angus Council, County Buildings, Market Street, Forfar, DD8 3LG.

The deadline for comments is January 4, 2013.

Display stands on the MIR will be placed in all the public libraries on the following dates: Carnoustie/Monifieth November 12 to 19; Brechin/Arbroath November 19 to 26; Kirriemuir/Arbroath November 26 to December 3; Carnoustie/Monifieth December 10 to 17.

Officers from the development plan team will be on hand at the exhibitions every Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions.
