Council promise to clean up litter problem

editorial image

ATTENTION was drawn last week to the perennial issue of littering in Arbroath.

Mr James Baxter contacted the Arbroath Herald to highlight the mess which lies to the left hand side of the sandstone archway on Burnside Drive which leads into the Lidl car park.

He said: “When you’re coming out of the bus station most people go through that archway and it doesn’t look very good.

“If they can put a nice lawn in on the other side, why can’t they do something like that there?”

A spokesperson for Angus Council said: “This small area of shrubs is maintained by parks and the litter which has collected there will be dealt with at the earliest opportunity.”
