Bus Station changes

WORK to increase the width of the stances at Arbroath Bus station and the area needed for vehicles to reverse safely is running ahead of schedule.

Bus passengers are advised that with effect from Thursday, only a limited number of stances will be available for bus services to pick up and set down. Whilst most services will be able to continue to call at the Bus Station, alternative arrangements will be in place for the following services:

On journeys towards Dundee, Service X7 (Dundee - Arbroath - Montrose - Aberdeen) will not serve the Bus Station and instead will pick up and set down in the bus lay-by on Burnside Drive at Lordburn. Aberdeen-bound journeys will use the stop on Burnside Drive at Morrisons.

The town services 43 (Kirkton Circular) and 44 (Timmergreens - Cliffburn) will not call at the bus station with journeys running directly via Catherine Street between the railway station and Lordburn. Connections normally made by passengers at the bus station can instead be made at either Lordburn or the railway station depending on the service required.

Stagecoach Strathtay will have additional members of staff on hand at the bus station to assist passengers with any queries whilst the works are ongoing.

People are also reminded that with the exception of local bus services, taxis operated by Arbroath Taxis and deliveries to the café, all other vehicles should not enter the bus station.
