A BODY has been found in the search for missing Arbroath man Ross Ramsay although formal identification is yet to take place.

Ross (30) was last seen at the Gala Casino in Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow four weeks ago when he handed his wallet in to casino staff before leaving.

The sound engineer was last seen on CCTV in Newton Street in the nearby Charing Cross area, but did not return to his home in Maryhill, to the north of the city centre.

Strathclyde Police confirmed that a body was recovered from the River Clyde near to the King George V dock at 11.30 a.m. on Monday.

However, they added that enquiries were ongoing to establish the identity.

On Tuesday evening, tributes to Ross were being paid on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter by friends.
