Local firms are now brothers in law

A well-respected Arbroath legal firm has this week merged with another leading East Coast law firm to offer a bigger and better range of services.

On Monday Marjory MacDonald Solicitors merged with Blackadders LLP to create a practice made up of 24 partners and over 240 staff, and trading under the Blackadders banner.

The firm will offer a full service capability for business and private clients, acting for household name companies and charities, along with thousands of private individuals, many of whom are also clients of its wealth management unit.

Marjory MacDonald Solicitors is based in Market Place while Blackadders have an office round the corner on Commerce Street in Arbroath.

Marjory MacDonald said: “I am delighted about the decision to join forces.

“I expect to be busier than ever whilst providing continuity of service to my clients.”

This latest deal brings the number of acquisitions made in the last year by Blackadders to three.

Blackadders has offices in Aberdeen, Arbroath, Dundee, Edinburgh, Forfar and Perth.
