TWO ARBROATH men have raised more than £2,500 for charity after completing one of the most famous half-marathons.

In September, Paul Simpson and Stuart Benham, originally from the town but now lives in Liverpool, both finished the 13 miles of the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields.

And after collecting all of their sponsorship money they have realised a final total of £2,577.20.

This will now be given to the runners’ selected charity which is Cancer Research UK.

Both said they would like to extend their thanks to the support of people and businesses in the town, who helped them with their fund-raising efforts.
