AN ARBROATH theatre company has formed the purr-fect partnership with the local Cats Protection charity.

The LimeLight Company is gearing up to perform their latest production, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, ‘Cats’ in the Webster Memorial Theatre from Tuesday (May 7) until Friday (May 10).

And for the last month, they have collected food, treats and necessary items for Cats Protection, which they handed over to Chester The Cat last week.

The Cats Protection rely solely on donations from the public, with costs of £15,000 a year and they are dedicated to rescuing stray and unwanted cats and kittens.

Michael Carlin, co-owner of the company said: “It’s a fantastic cause that does fantastic work, and we at LimeLight thought ‘Cats’ was the perfect opportunity to help out. We’ve received so many donations, and would like to thank the kids and parents for their brilliant dedication to the event.”

The LimeLight Company take to the stage with ‘Cats’ after just three months of gruelling dance rehearsals and it will be the first time the show has ever been in Arbroath.

Chris O’Mara, director said: “This show has been a phenomenal challenge, both for the kids and the production team. It’s the first time LimeLight has tackled such a dance heavy show, but the company, as always, have risen to the challenge to create an outstanding show of the high standard our audiences now expect.”

‘Cats’ runs from Tuesday to Friday and tickets are £8 for the Tuesday and with Wednesday to Friday £10 each.
