Teachers and pupils from Arbroath schools have combined to create two huge 3D lanterns with various designs for the relay for life campaign.
Schools involved in the project were Arbroath Academy and Inverbrothock, Timmergreens, Muirfield and Hayshead Primaries (writes Coleen Rick).
All the schools were asked to create a canvas and to get the children to think of their own ideas that meant something to them as well as reflecting the charity.
he pieces were displayed at the relay for life race over the weekend of September 19 and 20, at Arbroath Cricket Club.
Ian Angus, chairman for Relay for Life, said: “It’s great to involve the schools and their students in a big community event for such a brilliant cause.”
Two youngsters from Timmergreens Primary School also gave their thoughts on the project.
Emily Milne said: “The lanterns were really fun to make and it was very interesting to see everyone’s ideas.”
Eilidh Hammond added: “It was great to be part of something and to be able to use my own designs.”
