THE RNLI Shop at Arbroath harbour will be open during the May Day holiday thanks to public support.
According to the Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild, the response by the general public during the Easter Weekend has prompted the guild to open the RNLI Shop from 2 to 4 p.m. from Friday, May 4, to Monday, May 7.
At the moment the shop is still open from 2 to 4 p.m. every weekend, but between June and October this will switch to a daily opening.
The annual general meeting will be held on May 25 in the Royal British Legion Scotland hall on Helen Street at 2 p.m.
After business has been concluded the ladies will serve a cream tea and there will be a presentation by Lis Hill on the ‘The Glasgow Boys’ art movement of the early 20th century. The Glasgow Boys were pioneering artists who used their passion for realism and naturalism to capture the colourful character of Glasgow on canvas.
A four-ball golfing competition and tea outing to Panmure Golf Course, Barry, has been arranged for July 1, and will also feature prizes and a raffle.
As always, all money raised will go to the upkeep of the Arbroath Lifeboat, anyone interested in taking part should contact Gillian on 01241 877438
