The women of the Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild were dressed to impress last week for another successful fund-raising venture.
Last Wednesday at the Meadowbank Inn they presented the ‘Dress to Impress’ fashion show delivered by Ann Annandale of ‘karenb’ in Broughty Ferry and raised nearly £3,000 in the process.
The evening was completely sold out and was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance.
There were 10 models who showcased the latest fashions and accessories in a number of styles such as ‘Casual Smart’, ‘Formal’ and the glittery ‘Evening’ or ‘Party’ ensemble.
Danny Laverty and James Hutcheson were on fine form with their witty repartee in their role as comperes introducing the outfits.
The pair even sang a duet which acted as the background music to the final clothing range, ‘Christmas Party Scene’.
Arbroath Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild president Barbara Cargill was delighted with the event. She said: “Thank you to Ann and the models for a really superb show, Danny and James for enhancing the evening and of course the Meadowbank staff for all their assistance.
“Lastly, we have to thank the wonderful support given by the audience who between the sale of tickets, the mini- auction and raffle draw helped to raise the grand total of £2,707.
“This is indeed one of the Lifeboat Guild’s most successful fund raising events of the year, many thanks to everyone who supported the Arbroath Lifeboat and of course the members of the crew who assisted throughout the evening.”
