TWO OF the crew members from Arbroath RNLI taught their life-saving skills to BBC presenter Matt Baker for the popular Countryfile programme.

Matt teamed up with local crewmen Allan Russell and Peter Willis, as well as Roy Giles from Anstruther, to replicate what it is like to be carrying out rescue work in floods.

Both Allan and Peter are members of the RNLI’s flood rescue team and they carried out the practice at the Falls of Lora, which is on the outskirts of Oban.

The pair taught Matt the specialist skills required by RNLI volunteers to save lives in floods, including rescuing people from fast flowing water and swift-water swimming.

The programme will be broadcast on Sunday at 7 p.m. on BBC One.
