Lifeboat called out to cliffs

ARBROATH’S inshore lifeboat was launched at 7.50 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the request of HM Coastguard following reports of a female in potential danger around The Ness area of the town’s cliffs.

Already at the lifeboat station undertaking a training course, the volunteer RNLI crew members were able to launch the lifeboat instantly after receiving the call-out.

Upon arrival at the scene, however, the crew quickly established that the situation was under control and returned to the lifeboat station around 30 minutes after the initial request for assistance had been received.
