The Post Office is to open a new Post Office ‘local’ service at the Letham branch in Gardyen Street.
The service, which launches at 1pm on Thursday, March 24, will be provided at a combination counter in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the till.
Customers can access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
Post Office services will be available during the store’s opening hours, 8am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday so customers can visit when it is most convenient.
Other services include withdrawals using a Post Office Card Account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can pay bill, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
Suzanne Richardson, Regional Manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
She added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, and will secure services for the future.”
Letham Post Office will close at 5.30pm on Thursday, March 17, for the refurbishment to take place. During the short period of closure before the new branch is operational Post Office services may be accessed from any convenient Post Office branch, including:
- Forfar Post Office, 7 East High Street, Forfar, DD8 2EL
- Timmergreens Post Office, Unit4, Timmergreens Estate, Arbirlot Road, Arbroath, DD11 2EW
