THE WINNERS of the Arbroath Royal British Legion Scotland’s poppy poster and Christmas card competitions were honoured in the Helen Street clubrooms last Monday night.
Taking top prizes were Muirfield Primary who won the Ian and Winnie Archer Trophy for being overall winners of the poster competition.
Meanwhile Timmergreens Primary won the Christmas card competition and were rewarded with the Women’s Section Trophy.
In the individual sections, the results were as follows:
Christmas cards section one aged six to eight – 1, Abbie Maclae, Hayshead; 2, Emily Hamilton, Hayshead; 3, Rebecca Watt, St Thomas. Secretary’s choice: Finlay Tough, Hayshead.
Christmas cards section two aged nine to 10 – 1, Jodie Masson, Timmergreens; 2, Herriet Ford, Timmergreens; 3, Josh Crabb, Timmergreens. Secretary’s choice: Georgia Richie, Warddykes.
Christmas cards section three aged 11 to 12 – 1, Anna Milne, Timmergreens; 2, Jess Campbell, Timmergreens; 3, Ariana Smith, Hayshead. Secretary’s choice: Justyna Butkiewicz, St Thomas.
Poppy poster section one P1 to P3 – 1, Lucas Craigie, Inverbrothock; 2, Holly Bastow, Ladyloan; 3, Josh Llewellyn, Inverbrothock. Secretary’s choice: Romy McIntosh, Inverbrothock.
Poppy poster section two P4 to P5 – 1, Logan Swankie, Muirfield; 2, Holly Bennett, Muirfield; 3, Kamil Kaplita, Ladyloan. Secretary’s choice: Laura Burns, Ladyloan.
Poppy poster section three P6 to P7 – Amy Sims, Hayshead; 2, Anna Milne, Timmergreens; 3, Justyna Butkiewicz, St Thomas. Secretary’s choice: Hannah Taylor, St Thomas.
Branch secretary Colin McDonald said: “Thank you to all the schools who have entered the competition and I hope that win or lose, you all enjoyed taking part in what is becoming a very popular competition.”
