Keptie Bakery named one of Scotland’s top bakeries

A family-run craft bakery in Angus has won a prestigious industry award for the quality of their products.

The Keptie Bakery, which has shops in Letham, Arbroath and Brechin, has been announced as the runner-up to the Craft Baker of the Year 2016 Award.

The award was presented by Mich Turner MBE, celebrity baker, at the ceremony hosted by Scottish Bakers.

Keptie Bakery were also successful in the Scone Category taking a Regional Sliver for their fruit scone.

Allan Eaton, from Keptie Bakery, said: “We are extremely pleased to be recognised as one of Scotland’s best bakers.

“We take our business very seriously and use traditional methods and craftsmen’s skills to deliver quality every time. But we could not have come this far in the competition without our dedicated and skilled team and without the votes of all of our customers, Thank you.”

Owner of Award winning Little Venice Cake Company and Judge on ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery Mich Turner MBE, who presented Keptie with their award said: “It has given me great pleasure to be involved in the competition again this year. There have been some fantastic entries and all the prizes I have handed out to bakers have been worthy in every way. I wish Keptie Bakery well in the coming year as one of Scotland’s premier craft bakers.”
