ARBROATH RNLI recently received a donation from local lady Jennifer Russell.

When celebrating her 65th birthday, Jennifer decided that rather than receive gifts from friends and family she would ask that they make a donation to the local lifeboats instead.

In doing so, a fantastic sum of £380.40 was raised.

Lifeboat operations manager for Arbroath Alex Smith thanked Jennifer for her donation.

He said: “It sometimes goes forgotten that the RNLI is a charity and we rely on donations to train and equip our crews for the challenges they face at sea.

“We are always extremely grateful for the generosity of people like Jennifer and the money they raise makes a big difference to us.”
