There was a time when buying or selling a house meant putting yourself in the hands of an estate agent and hoping for the best.

You still need to involve an estate agent, but the advent of the World Wide Web has changed the property market beyond all recognition in the past 15 years.

Wardhaugh Property Management has been at the forefront of adopting new technology to offer clients the best service possible.

The firm, which will celebrate its golden anniversary next year, has managed to combine old-fashioned values with the latest developments in website advances.

It has linked up with all the major websites, including Rightmove, the UK’s number one property website, the aim of which is to provide home movers to find details of all properties available to rent or buy.

Amanda Wiewiorka, owner of Wardhaugh Property Management, explained why she chose to work closely with Rightmove.

She said: “We felt we needed to attract more buyers for our clients from further afield and Rightmove gave us exactly that, being recognised as the major portal for advertising property the decision was easy, it gave our clients flexibility and took them away from the more traditional local methods.”

Rightmove connects more people with more property than anyone else. It is the clear market leaders with more users, more advertising members and more properties than any other UK property website.

Since it launched in 2000, it has grown and developed. More than 90 per cent of all UK estate agents chose to be members of Rightmove and advertise their properties through its website. And with more than 20,000 agents and developers from Land’s End to John o’Groats, that enables Rightmove to provide users with an unrivalled and outstanding choice of properties.

It’s all a long way from the days of looking in an estate agent’s window at two-dimensional photos and setting off with a schedule which might only contain a single, exterior shot of the property.
