WARD two (medical) at Arbroath Infirmary re-opened to new admissions on Wednesday after being closed for several days following a number of cases of vomiting and diarrhoea which is thought to be caused by Norovirus, more commonly known as the winter vomiting bug. The closure was a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the virus and all appropriate infection control measures were put in place.
Winter vomiting is extremely common at this time of year in the wider community.
