Inchcape sea defences

THE SEA defences at Inchcape Park, Arbroath, are to be extended to reduce the risk of coastal erosion. Angus Council will install around 100 metres of rock armour, an existing wall will be demolished and its rubble will be used as filler material for the new construction.

The council’s shoreline management plan has recognised that a failure of defences in the area could result in the loss of recreational open spaces. It could also have a detrimental affect on the Inchcape pumping station owned by Scottish Water.

They have said that they have no objection to the plan and are standing by to offer advice to the council on how to carry out the work without risking damage to infrastructure.
