Idlewild have announced a new album – their first in five years – and a collection of European tour dates for 2015.
Led by frontman Roddy Woomble, from Carnoustie, the Scottish alt-rock band’s seventh studio album Everything Ever Written will be released on February 9 next year. Idlewild will then tour Europe and the UK throughout February and March, playing 10 dates in total.
Representative of “a new chapter” in Idlewild’s career, Everything Ever Written is being billed as the band’s most eclectic effort so far. The album consists of 12 tracks, reportedly influenced by a mixture of Scottish folk, Americana and “Hebridean psychedelia”.
General tickets for the spring tour will go on sale today (November 7) at 9 a.m. Fans in the UK who pre-order Everything Ever Written before that date will become eligible for exclusive pre-sale gig tickets.
