A CONCERT to celebrate Jazz at Hospitalfield’s 21st birthday will be held on Saturday, October 22, when Ken Mathieson’s Classic Jazz Orchestra will provide the music.
Formed in 2004 to explore and reinterpret the wonderfully varied back-catalogue of jazz , this award-winning eight-piece outfit has gone on to become one of the most popular bands in the country.
Alan Steadman who has run the venue since the start said: “We have arrived at our 21st birthday in a healthy state with audiences actually on the increase.
“Over the years we have featured artists from all over the world but have never overlooked our home-grown ones. It is fitting therefore that the best of Scottish musicians are to bring their interpretations of the music of Ellington, Armstrong, Basie, etc., to the party.”
Tickets costing £12 can be reserved by ‘phoning 01382 774648.
