On Sunday Friockheim and District Walkers welcomed many new members for a walk to Jock’s Road.
Starting at Auchallater, 45 walkers followed the Callater Burn towards Lochallater Lodge where two of the party opted to take the north east path at this point to ‘bag’ Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Cairn Bannoch and Broad Cairn.
The rest of the group proceeded alongside Loch Callater before ascending the steep slope towards the plateau and enjoying a well-deserved lunch stop whilst enjoying the superb views over Loch Callater and beyond.
The party then split with half proceeding to Tolmount and Tom Buidhe before rejoining Jock’s Road at a later point.
The remainder followed Jock’s Road over Crow Craigies, past Davies Bourach and down through the forest towards the car park at Glendoll.
Weather conditions, although not sunny, were perfect for walking.
Members should note there will be no pre-walk meeting on Thursday, July 18, prior to the July weekend to Roy Bridge.
