DO YOU suffer from a long-term condition like arthritis, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, mental ill health, chronic pain, cardiac problems, COPD, Reynard Syndrome, fibromyalgia or any other long term condition?
Would you like to become part of a local support group network and find out a little bit more information about your condition, as well as meet others with similar conditions to your own and have new friends who are able to understand how you are feeling about yourself?
Angus Long Term Conditions Support Groups, with the support of Springfield Medical Centre, have arranged to start up an Arbroath group. The inaugural meeting will be held today (Friday) at the Centre from 1 until 3 p.m. and every last Friday of the month thereafter.
The meeting is open to everyone with a long-term condition in Arbroath and the surrounding area. There are also monthly groups in Carnoustie, Brechin and Forfar.
At the meetings you will have a chance to learn some self management skills from people who have long-term conditions, health professionals and trained volunteers. You will meet new friends and be able to have a chat over a cuppa, learn new techniques to help you manage your condition and not let your condition manage you!
This group would be especially good for anyone who has attended the ‘Challenge Your Condition’ course run on behalf of Angus CHP as it continues with the ‘self management’ course material.
If you would like more information about the new Arbroath Group then call 07091 385279, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.altcsg.org.uk
There is no need to reserve a place, just turn up this afternoon and join in the fun!
