A MOBILE Hepatitis screening unit will visit Arbroath next week.
On Monday the Hepatitis C Trust’s outreach and testing van will visit Morrisons, Hume Street, Arbroath, to provide education and testing specifically designed for Central and Eastern European populations.
It is aimed to provide information and testing to people unaware they are at risk or have access to testing.
Hepatitis C is a symptomless blood borne virus that can go undetected for years. The virus can cause cirrhosis and liver cancer, but if caught early it can be effectively treated. In Scotland it is estimated that 39,000 people are living with Hepatitis C but approximately half remain undiagnosed.
