ANGUS Council’s social service was recognised last week at the national Care Accolades 2012, which showcases the very best of the Scottish care sector.
At the awards ceremony on Friday in Perth, the ‘Investing in the Workforce, Developing Practice’ award went to the Learning Disability SVQ Programme by Angus Council.
The programme worked to promote and enhance development opportunities for people in Angus by thinking outside the box.
Angus Council internal verifier Trica Lowe said: “I feel that we were winners before the event on Friday by being selected for the Care Accolades final.
“It is fantastic that we have won the category ‘Investing In The Workforce, Developing Practice’ and this recognises the hard work of all the staff involved.
“This is a celebration of partnership working, including the service users who are at the core of the Learning Disability SVQ Programme.”
