THE CANCER Research UK shop in Arbroath High Street this week joined the ‘Spot cancer early’ campaign which features real cancer survivors.
Sue Vipond (62) from Peebles, features on some of the posters. She said: “As a former nurse I know how important it is to listen to my body and take what it’s telling me seriously. I hope that my experience will persuade anyone who might be hesitating about seeing their GP about changes to their body to get them checked out as soon as possible.”
Linda Summerhayes, Cancer Research UK Scottish spokesperson, said: “We hope that seeing Sue’s poster will encourage others to follow her example and go to see their GP if they notice an unusual or persistent change to their body, even if it doesn’t seem serious. But if it does turn out to be something more serious, finding it early could make all the difference.”
