AN ARBROATH youth worker is taking the plunge to help raise cash for the popular Street Games for All run by the CAFE Project.
Hamish Fairweather will be completing a sponsored challenge in the Great Scottish Swim at Strathclyde Park on August 25.
And now Hamish is appealing for donations big or small that will help out the project.
He said: “The Street Games For All has been going for over a decade and thousands of children have enjoyed it over the years.
“Our 15 metre x 10 metre portable pitch is set up in schools, parks or in the street at arranged times and the children come out of their homes for a couple of hours of football, fun and friendship.
“Like lots of local charities we are finding funding harder and harder to come by so I decided to get the wet suit out one more time.
I have swam in a few races in the Tay a couple of years ago so that should stand me in good stead.”
“The course is two miles but I am sure I will make it as I have been training at the Arbroath Sports Centre. Any donations large or small would be very much appreciated.”
To sponsor Hamish donations can be handed into The CAFE Project, 7 Brothock Bridge, Arbroath or on charitygiving.co.uk/hamishfairweather.
