MACKAY’S jam factory is set to feature on national TV for the first time after celebrity cooks the ‘Hairy Bikers’ paid a visit.
The pair visited Mackays at the end of October to show how marmalade is made for their new TV series called ‘Best of British’.
David ‘Dave’ Myers and Simon ‘Si’ King, took part in a tour of the factory and made their own round of marmalade, the authentic way, using Mackays copper bottomed pans.
They also hosted a question and answer session with managing director, Martin Grant, to learn more about the history of Mackays Dundee orange marmalade.
Mackays chairman, Paul Grant, commented: “It was a great honour for the BBC to select us to take part in the new series of The Hairy Bikers.”
The Hairy Bikers programme featuring Mackays is being broadcast today (Friday) on BBC2 at 3.45 p.m.
