THERE has been a good response to last week’s announcement of a donation of £10,000 to good causes in Arbroath by local businessmen Valy and Shiraz Ossman.
Valy stated: “As a gesture of goodwill to the community we want to donate £10,000 to the charities and good causes that are based in Arbroath. In conjunction with the Arbroath Herald we will be looking for the most worthy causes as voted for by the people of Arbroath.”
Anyone planning to nominate a charity, a worthy individual or a local good cause must write to the Arbroath Herald giving the reasons why they merit a cash award and the nomination must be received in writing at the Arbroath Herald offices at 21 Market Place, Arbroath, DD11 1HR, before Wednesday, August 15. Envelopes should be clearly marked ‘Giving Back to the Community’.
After the deadline, a panel will consider all the nominations and make up a shortlist for the three winning awards, of £5,000, £3,000 and £2,000.
