Get growing with Allotment Association

THE ARBROATH Allotment Association say plots are available for the new growing season which starts in November.

There are half plots available from £15 annual rental which are ideal for the beginner or £30 for a full plot for the more able or ambitious gardener.

The Association has two main sites, Brechin Road, with parking next to the SPAR mini market and at Ernest Street in Hayshead.

They also have an annual seed ordering scheme with a generous discount for members, and sells a range of compost and fertilisers from its base in Brechin Road, which gives everything needed to grow as much high quality fresh vegetables as you can eat throughout the year.

There are many allotment holders of varying levels of experience at the Brechin Road and Hayshead sites, so advice is never in short supply.

Applications to be considered for plots are welcomed, and contact can be made by telephoning secretary, Denise Condie on 01241 878161 or the president, Rob Pearce, on 01241 431359.

The association does have a small waiting list, but often plots become available at short notice.
