AN ARBROATH artist hopes her new venture will help brighten up the High Street.

The Resin Art Gallery, at 84 High Street, opened officially last weekend and owner and artist Gail Knight has been delighted with the response so far.

Last Friday night guests were invited to view the gallery ahead of the public opening on Saturday morning and Gail sold five of the unique resin-based paintings and was commissioned for four more.

She said: “It went very, very well. There were about 30 or 40 people there I would say and the feedback was positive.

“And then on Saturday my open day to the public was better than I expected. It was a fantastic start.”

Gail hopes to use her gallery creatively for the good of the town and is open to suggestions from the public. She said: “I just want to bring a bit of shine to the town.”
