A ROYAL Marine whose body was discovered at Arbroath cliffs earlier this month after going missing was laid to rest on Wednesday.
Marine Ralph Hebden was reported missing after going for a run along the cliffs last month, however his body was found three weeks later.
During this time his wife, Sarah, also gave birth to the couple’s first child.
His full military funeral took place at the Church of Our Lady and St Nicholas in Liverpool city centre, where Ralph was originally from.
His coffin was draped in the Union flag, which was carried by eight comrades.
Ralph had been based at RM Condor and had been living in the town at the time of his disappearance.
The commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Mike Tanner said the unit was saddened at Ralph’s death.
