ANGUS College health and well-being group have been lending their support to Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a successful donation bag collection.
Donation bags were distributed to all members of staff across the college and donation stations were located in four areas of the college.
Organiser of the event Jane Cooper said: “I’d like to thank everyone who supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month and provided donations.
“We managed to collect 76 bags in just a week. According to Cancer Research UK each bag is worth on average £30, so that would make an estimated total of £2,280. The bags were collected this morning and are now on their way to the Thurso depot for sorting out.”
In addition to the bag donations a number of staff attended a workshop on how to be ‘breast aware’ delivered by Alison Harrow, from the Dundee Cancer Centre.
