THE COMMUNITY fireworks fund received another boost on Tuesday when two cheques totalling £6,000 were donated to the cause.
New supermarket Asda handed over £4,000 while Arbroath Events contributed £2,000 with cash raised at the Seafront Spectacular.
The cheques take the total amount pledged for the firework display to £7,000 and organiser David Fairweather is promising the fireworks will be the biggest and best Arbroath has ever seen.
Just this week he has received donations from Fenton and MacIntosh Plumbers and Councillor David Lumgair.
And this is on top of a concert by Declaration to be held in Coast nightclub on Friday, October 28.
Anybody interested in contributing towards the fireworks should contact Councillor Fairweather or Howard Cargill at Carpet Disco.
